Ordering and plans

How do JLC meal plans work?

Pick a calorie bracket (from 550 to 2,900 kcal a day), choose 1 week or 4 weeks, and we deliver your Monday to Friday food across three chilled deliveries. While ordering, you'll pick each day's meals from that week's menu, and the menu changes every week. If you're on a 4 week plan, you'll select new meals each week.

Is it a subscription?

No. Run a single week or a 4-week plan. Once your plan ends we get in touch to renew or arrange cooler bag collection, and nothing renews behind your back.

Can I trial it first?

The 1-week plan is the trial: a full week of the real menu, no subscription, no commitment past that week. If it fits, roll into a 4-week plan and save.

When do I need to order by?

9am on Sunday for the following week. The kitchen cooks to exact customer numbers each week and often sells out, so we do recommend ordering by the end of Saturday to guarantee your spot.

Can I start mid-week?

Plans start on Mondays at this stage. Order by the end of day Saturday to secure your sopt for the following week.

Can I change plans midway through?

If you're unsure of your requirements, our Nutrition Team can help guide you in the right direction. You can reach out over Whatsapp any time and we'll be happy to help!

How much does a meal plan cost?

Plans start from 330 AED a week for the One Main Meal plan. Every plan comes as a 1-week or 4-week duration, and our 4 week plans have an in-built discount. All prices are on the plan pages.

Do you have a welcome discount?

Yes: 20% off when you sign up. This can be used once on any of our plans, including 4 week plans!

Why is meal plan ordering on a separate site?

The website is for browsing: the weekly menu, plan details, supplements and Final Call. Meal plans themselves are ordered and managed on the JLC ordering site, which is where you pay, pick your meals and choose delivery windows. Every Order Now button takes you straight there.

How do accounts work?

You can browse our plans and our menu without having an account. Your account is created on the JLC ordering site when you order your first plan, and here is where you will pick each week's meals, as well as your preferred delivery time and see what's arriving next.

Is there a JLC app?

Not yet, but an app is on the way! The ordering site works well on your phone, laptop or tablet in the meantime.

Delivery

Where does Jetlagged Chef deliver?

Across Dubai, straight to your door in a 60-minute window of your choice.

When do my meals arrive?

Your meals will be delivered in three deliveries across the week: Monday brings Monday's meals, Tuesday brings Tuesday and Wednesday's meals, and Thursday brings Thursday and Friday's meals. While placing your order, you'll select a 60-minute delivery window that suits you, starting at 3-4am. Everything is delivered in a cooler bag on ice.

Is there a delivery fee?

No, delivery is free on every plan.

Do you deliver meals on weekends?

Meals cover Monday to Friday. No weekend meals at this stage.

Do I pay a deposit for the cooler bag?

No deposit. Your cooler bag arrives with your first delivery; you can leave it out the night before each delivery day and our driver will collect it when we drop off your next set of meals.

The food

Do I choose my own meals?

Yes! You pick each day's meals from that week's menu on the JLC ordering site. Rather not decide? Let Eliza pick with our Chef's Choices options. This will give you a good variety of our most popular meals across the week.

Is the food halal?

Yes, all JLC meals are halal.

Do you have gluten free options?

Yes, we offer gluten-free meal options each day. Please note that our kitchen also handles gluten-containing ingredients, so while we take care when preparing these meals, we cannot guarantee they are completely free from traces of gluten or cross-contamination.

Do you have dairy free options?

Yes, dairy free options are on the menu every day, with a filter to find them while you pick your meals.

Are your plans suitable for vegetarians?

Yes, we offer multiple vegetarian options each day to pick from!

Is the food fresh or frozen?

Fresh, never frozen. Every meal is cooked in the JLC kitchen and delivered chilled, ready for the fridge.

How do I store the meals, and how long do they keep?

In the fridge. Shelf life is 48 hours from delivery, in line with municipality guidelines, which is exactly why your week arrives across three deliveries instead of one.

Do the meals have to be heated?

Not necessarily. Plenty of the menu is made to be eaten cold: there are salad options every day, and all of our other main meals are safe to be eaten hot or cold.

How do I heat the meals?

Main meals (apart from salads) arrive in microwave-safe containers. Take out any sauces or sides, pop the lid back on, and microwave for around 2 to 3 minutes: the lid helps it heat evenly. A pan on the stove or an air fryer works too.

What size are the meals?

Our main meals range between 525 kcal to 650 kcal, depending on the recipe. Breakfasts come in two portion sizes (300 or 500 kcal), and snacks range between 200-230 kcal. If you have particular calorie or macronutrient targets, you will see this information as you pick your meals to help you reach your requirements easily.

What's the quality of your proteins?

All proteins are antibiotic and hormone free, and the beef is grass fed.

How much protein is in the meals?

It depends on the protein source. Higher protein mains like chicken, beef and prawn typically carry 45 to 60g each. A calorie and macro calculator runs on the ordering site while you pick meals, and the nutrition team can help if you're unsure of what to aim for.

Can you cater for allergies or intolerances?

We have a filter function while ordering which allows you to filter out certain allergens or ingredients. Please note, the more ingredients you select to exclude, the fewer your meal options will be each day to choose from. For allergies, please reach out to the team before ordering to ensure our plans are a suitable fit.

Final Call and supplements

What is Final Call?

Same-day meals with no plan needed. Limited meals from that week's menu go live on the website at 6am on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, sold individually until they're gone. Final Call delivers within Dubai only.

Do you sell supplements?

Yes, a curated range of third-party supplement brands, bought straight through the website like any online shop. That's separate from meal plans, which come with a daily supplement included on most plans.

Calories and tracking

How do I know which plan to pick?

We offer complimentary nutrition consultations to guide you in the right direction. Simply reach out over WhatsApp and our Nutrition Team will get back to you. We also have the plan finder on every plan page, which calculates your daily calories and macros from your goal, training and activity, then matches you to a plan.

How do I track my macros?

Every meal has a MyFitnessPal barcode on the lid. Scan it and the full macro breakdown logs itself. This information can also be found in your account by going to the My Menu tab.

What if my calorie target sits between two plans?

Reach out to our Nutrition Team over WhatsApp and we'll be happy to help.
